Scottish and English Striker could leave Sheffield United this summer 2024 - report

Scottish striker Oli McBurnie and English striker Daniel Jebbison are set to leave Sheffield United at the end of this season.

According to reports, both strikers will leave Bramall Lane in the coming summer transfer window.

As reported by Alan Nixon, both strikers have refused to agree to a fresh deal with Sheffield United and have made up their minds to make a move to another English club, most preferably an English Premier League club.

Oli McBurnie has played 141 games for the Blades and has scored 24 goals. He was signed by Chris Wilder when Sheffield United were promoted to the English Premier League; he was, in fact, one of Wilder’s first big signings for the club in 2019. He also has international appearances for the Scotland national team, which he represented 16 times.

Daniel Jebbison was signed during the 2020 season, has made just 28 appearances for the Blades, and has scored 2 goals. He was also signed by Chris Wilder when he was just 17, but since then he has featured in few games for the Blades and remains sidelined most of the season. Although he was born in Canada, he represented England. His career details are as follows:

International career: Apps Gls

2021 England U18 1 (0)
2021–2022 England U19 7 (1)
2022–2023 England U20 5 (1)

Daniel Jebbison hasn’t played this season due to an unidentified injury.

Oli McBurnie, on the other hand, was instrumental in Sheffield United’s promotion in the previous campaign. But injuries have plagued him this season as well, and he was substituted off against Bournemouth yesterday shortly after the hour mark.

Should Oli McBurnie stay?

This news led Blades fans to be divided, as the majority prefer Oli McBurnie to stay at the club. Although his injury is now a major hurdle, that’s why some fans also want him to leave, as they prefer a non-injured player to play at Bramall Lane.

Both players want to play in the English Premier League next season rather than stay in the Championship. Will both players get an offer from any English Premier League club? This remains a mystery.

In fairness, Oli McBurnie, a Scotland international, has demonstrated his value this season when he has been available. He was essential to Iliman Ndiaye’s success during the promotion season.

Regarding Jebbison, we are aware that he has missed time this season due to a leg injury and that some back-end matters are making it more difficult for him to return.

The young player hasn’t, however, demonstrated enough during his games to imply that a Premier League team will sign him.

This week, Chris Wilder stated that the team is not currently prioritizing signing new contracts. Based on this story, it appears that the new manager is willing to let key players go.
