Since then, Celtic management and current manager, Brendan Rodgers, have been under immense pressure to find a quality replacement for the English international goalkeeper.

But now that the news has arrived that Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin, who was also wanted by Celtic, is now open for a transfer talk.

According to various sources, Real Madrid is now willing to talk about the transfer of the 25-year-old goalkeeper.

Brendan Rodgers is an admirer of the Ukrainian goalkeeper and wanted him to replace Joe Hart.

Joe Hart, who has made 101 appearances for the Celtic Football Club and has also played 75 matches for the England National Team.

The 36-year-old goalkeeper has a vast amount of experience and has also played 266 games for the English Premier League club Manchester City and has won the English Premier League trophy twice, which is one of the most famous leagues in the world.

Should Real Madrid sell Andriy Lunin to Celtic?

This is a big question as Carlo Ancelotti has now opted to play Andriy Lunin as number one for Real Madrid as Thibaut Courtois is struggling from injuries, and Kepa Arrizabalaga, whom they have signed on loan from Chelsea Football Club, has also struggled with his form.

After giving gloves to Andriy Lunin, he has performed fantastically for Real Madrid, keeping 8 clean sheets in 17 appearances this season.

Real Madrid club President Florentino Perez has been applauding Andriy Lunin’s recent performances, and the Ukrainian rises from third goalkeeper choice to first. He is also now a fan favourite at the Santiago Bernabeu.

But now, according to Defensa Central, Real Madrid wants to have Thibaut Courtois back as No. 1 next season. With this news, Andriy Lunin wants to have more playing time next season and doesn’t want to sit on the bench; he could want to leave Real Madrid.

The Real Madrid president also wants to cash in some money from the sale of the 25-year-old goalkeeper.

Real Madrid signed Andriy Lunin from Zorya Luhansk for £12 million back in 2018 and have just 12 months remaining on his contract, which expires in July 2025.

Brendan Rodgers will now have a chance to convince the Ukrainian goalkeeper to join Celtic Football Club. Hoops fans, share your views in the comment section below…
