The Web of Smart Phones

There is a huge spider web that is getting bigger and much more enormous day by day, and that is the smartphone trap.

Whenever I put on the TV, there is not even a single day when there is not an advertisement for a smartphone with all the possible features it can have, like 5G, a high-media-tech processor, an AMOLED display, etc.

Loads of different companies feature an infinite number of features on their phones, but all the chips and microchips are made up of rare earth metals, which are on the verge of extinction, so I think it would be much better instead of introducing newer varieties day in and day out; it would be much better to recycle the old ones with some repair; otherwise, as the situation is, all these natural elements will go back to nature if not today, then tomorrow.

Then the other question is: aren’t we getting far away from one on one human contact? Whatever is happening is happening all through the electronic media; is it not degrading for human society?

Then, for the sake of advertisement, we are paying such a hefty amount to the celebrities to fool the general public; this will create a huge gap between the rich and the poor, which is again catastrophic for all of humanity.

However, I can’t understand what’s the use of all this in our lives other than making people more and more lazy, and their IQ levels are getting low. It’s also generating a huge amount of electrical junk, which also creates a big carbon footprint for Mother Nature. Even YouTubers start making paid videos by mobile companies for promoting their so-called smart phones.

In the streets, malls, roads, or even in natural places everywhere I look, it can be seen that the majority of the people are busy fidgeting on their phones only. But even after doing so much fidgeting on the phone, all of those un-smart people with smart phones are still not aware of the natural calamities that are occurring globally.

When we plant trees, do cleaning of Maa Narmada’s ghats, etc., not even a single person comes to work with us; rather, they stare at us ignorantly, as if we are some kind of an extra terrestrial creature who has just landed on earth. Some of them come to ask us in a really innocent tone, ‘What are you all doing here?’ Then, after listening to our cause, they just nod their heads a few times and slowly pass away like that.

Thus, isn’t it everyone’s duty to take care of Mother Nature? If there is nothing left on this earth like water, oxygen, soil, etc., will it be possible to generate it by asking the costliest of their phones? The answer is ‘no’.

Then why go mad for all this electronic junk? This is one of the biggest reasons for creating a bigger carbon footprint. Rather, it would be much better if we should start taking care of nature; otherwise, there is a huge, disastrous mayhem that is paving its way towards humans in the form of all these natural calamities.

I believe that instead of sitting glued to your smart phones, you better be smart yourself and get connected with the world around you. Feel the soil by touching it, hug the trees, touch the leaves, and walk barefoot on grass, as life is too short to spend your precious time on a specific gadget and deteriorate your health for no good reason at all.
